I got my face mongolianed! For anyone who has never had Mongolian, it kind of like Korean-Russian fusion. We're so fortunate to gave this place just around the corner in LA!
No beer, wine or liquor so come pre-gamed or checkout a nearby watering hole. Either way the food is worth the stop! -

We stopped off here on a Sunday afternoon on the way home from Dodger Stadium. I never knew this place existed until we were driving down Wilshire and saw the "MONGOL" sign in Cyrillic letters outside the restaurant. I've recently been to Mongolia and was a bit familiar with the food, and convinced my friends to stop there for an early dinner. The restaurant is on the ground floor of an office building and the décor is very Mongolian with lots of artwork on the walls. Everyone inside was Mongolian and we were the only Caucasians there. It felt like I was back in UB except for there were no drunk guys fighting on the sidewalk outside the front door.
We ordered the beef buuz and the khuushuur to start with, and they were delicious. It was nice to eat khuushuur that weren't so greasy you can't get the smell of mutton fat off your fingers and face (unlike the khuushuur at most guanz places in Mongolia), and the red cabbage slaw was the perfect accompaniment to cut the fat and saltiness of the khuushuur. We ordered a tsuivan (noodle stir fry) and tefteli (meatballs) and they were outstanding as well.
The place is understaffed and the service is a bit slow, but definitely worth trying to sample a cuisine that can't be found anywhere else in greater L.A. Sain Khiilee! Bii butsaad irne! -

Seriously the best. The only real authentic Mongolian restaurant you'll find in LA.
Food- delicious
Customer Service- fast and friendly
Price- unbeatable
Perfect for big groups/ family/ lunch/ dinner/ date.
And yes, they DO have vegan options!
Most dishes can be substituted with veggies instead of meat.
If you haven't been here, you're missing out. -

This is coming from a non-Mongolian. This place is VERY GOOD. I usually order the Huitsai which a greatly recommended. Its sort of a soup with meat balls and other things strategically tossed in. The milk tea is also good BUT some people don't like it so much. It's sort of an interesting but good taste. The inside is decorated wonderfully and culturally. I have recommended this place to many people and will continue to do so. The service is very good and unlike other ethnic restaurants, The Waitresses here are actually from Mongolia.

I'm visiting my brother and at dinner time he said " what do want to eat?" Then I said I'm okay whatever you want to feed us. Then he said okay I'll take care of it! We left his place drove around ... he said you guys are going to love this food! Waited for 10 mins and we left. Now back to his place ! Wow! My favorite is the breaded with ground beef ( like empanada style)yummy! Then the salad! Super light love that dressing they added on.. those side dishes ( radish?) Amazing flavor! The bbqpork with the egg... love the texture! Egg roll veggies is good very flavorful.
Definitely next time we visit I want to dine inside the resturant
